Weekend Style – The Anatomy of a Leather Biker Jacket

Miranda Kerr wearing A/W 11 Balenciaga $2514
One of my most cherished pieces is a leather biker jacket scored in a sale at Cole Haan while visiting Seattle. What I like about the biker jacket is its relentless relevance. I highly recommend sticking to the traditional no frills option as features like lacing (currently seen on a True Religion style) or over usage of large pockets will eventually date. Likewise color is key. I know it sounds obvious but go for black – or brown at a push – which will just get better with age. If money is no object I would consider a Belstaff who are synonymous with beautifully cut Italian leathers and style relevance, otherwise check out some fabulous options currently available on the high street.
Note: These 4 fab options all offer clean lines and traditional asymmetrical zipper. I would steer clear of large pockets or shearling collars which just add bulk.

You KNOW i want them…:)
@ R – with the luck you are having it won’t be long
I was with you when I got mine from ‘Express’ about 2 years ago, it was about $100 and with all the coupons I had it ended up being about $30. It is not real leather but you can’t really tell, as the quality is fantastic and I wear it loads!…. due to the amount of wear, it is well worth me spending the money and getting a real leather one, but for now this one does the job!!!…..Great find Christine, thanks for considering my budget!!!!
@Rachael – your leather jacket is one of the best faux I have seen and you are right – you can’t tell!
