Maxi Heaven

Although the maxi is considered a top seasonal trend, it is only in the last few months I have fully embraced it. My love of the maxi began with the BCBG black and white stripe Karolin option which I bought with some hesitancy thinking it might turn out to be a one wear wonder – boy was I wrong!  I wore my Karolin skirt so much the hem began to fray giving me a great excuse to bring in reinforcements and so I welcomed the Ella Moss chevron dress!

My obsession with the maxi has now grown beyond all reason as, since the Ella Moss number, I have purchased several more with the prospect of adding the streamlined Michael Stars ‘Addison’ style (below) to my collection in the near future.( I swear it will be the last one……for now!)

Michael Stars is the quintessential casual wear label which, in my opinion, has surpassed itself with a cool line of stylish seasonal options in an array of on-trend color palettes. This brand is synonymous with affordable quality offering apparel lines which are predominantly machine washable and made in the USA! Check out some of my current favorites!

The Highline stripe Maxi makes for the perfect casual day look! It comes in one size only so obviously fits according to your size. At 5’7″ and a size 2 I found it to be quite full – as it is on the model above – BUT, surprisingly, it is very flattering especially when paired with a contrast tank. Available at online sites such as Zappos and of course the Michael Stars site this style is worth every bit of the retail price of $98. Note: you will most likely have to get this shortened if you are under 5’9″ tall!

The convertible stripe maxi is just that. There are no bells and whistles to this laid-back piece which requires very little thought other than whether you want to wear it as a skirt or a dress. This very option is currently available on sale at Zappos for $66! Note: Also available in solid options (see skirt at the top)

The Addison stripe maxi will hopefully be the next addition to my closet. I have not tried it yet but all the indications are that it will be a winner. With a little more structure to it than the other pieces I own I will be looking to pair with tie front chambray or white blouse! All options are available at Michael Stars or Zappos!
