Graphic Skirt And A Choice of Purses.

While on a recent impromptu shopping excursion with my friend, Rachael, we ventured into Ann Taylor and found this lovely little graphic skirt on the sale rack. Stripes are my absolute weakness but alas the shorter length was a little too challenging for me. Rachael was unsure in the first instant but tried it anyway. After I ran through all of the style potential this piece offers she decided to give it a shot!

We paired a double breasted navy blazer and web belt with the stripe skirt. As Rachael often carries a Michael Kors orange purse (similar above) from a previous year’s collection, she plumped for the navy/orange skirt option (also available in black/ cobalt) making for the perfect preppy collaboration!

This fabulous vintage Dior clutch adds another dimension! A classic style allows accessories to influence the flavor of a look! Going into Fall this ensemble would pair well with tall boots and a leopard print scarf!

Rachael wears tan suede wedges from last years Jaeger collection and the Lolita purse from emerging designer Laura Vela. This design was amongst the first that ultimately launched Spanish native, Laura Vela, into the world of designing serious arm candy! Check out her designs here and here. Skirt here. 1. This is such a great outfit. I love the way you put it together Christine, it feels and looks polished!…Yes as always I did have my doubts about the skirt, mainly because I try to think before I spend. I wasn’t really sure if I really needed it, even though it was on sale and an exceptional price. Sometimes I buy things because it’s a good deal rather than because I love it! Fortunately your advice on this one as all others paid off. I love it!! It’s so useful. My favorite way to wear it is with a white blouse tied at the front and flat shoes, a great day look! Thanks Christine

  2. This is such a useful piece I know this will become a mainstay in your closet…….not to mention that you wear it so well :)

Christine Lockhart Welcome to my journal of fashion sensibility!
