The Modern Shift Dress!

Last weekend it was, my friend, Rachaels birthday and what better way to celebrate than to head out on a girlie lunch and impromptu shopping trip. I find you score the best buys when hitting stores without any particular goal – there is no pressure to settle, or even make a purchase, which frees the mind to endless possibilities.

We stumbled across this fabulous flocked cobalt dress at Anthropologie in Albuquerque…..when I say “stumbled” I mean we ran into Anthropologies lovely style consultant, kristy, who was wearing this modern shift by Sachin & Babi for Ankasa. Before I could say, “Rach you need to try that on” she was in the fitting room doing exactly that!

A statement in itself, this dress lends itself to a variety of accessorizing options to dictate the flavor of the look. On this occasion we went for updated elegance so paired with LK Bennetts “Olive” suede pumps ( a favorite of Kate Middletons) and a vintage Christian Dior clutch (see next post). For a cute day look this dress can be belted, shirtdress style, and teamed with ballerina’s or taken into Fall with a denim jacket and boots! Dress here and shoes similar here!

I absolutely love this dress!!…..It is an appropriate length and style….With your advice Christine I now only buy things that I can wear in multiple ways day or night. This is money smart! Quote, ” Buy one great quality piece that can be worn time again, rather than multiple bargains that together cost more and end up never being worn and confuse your wardrobe….thus giving you the feeling of, “I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR TODAY!!!”….which leads to more thoughtless purchases”!
