Hi There From Karen Walker At Anthropologie.

Twice Tied Shift $148

The current trend amongst online fashion retailers is to offer a unique curated line featuring new and established designers. J Crew was one of the first to use this concept with their ‘In Good Company’ collective while virtual boutique, Shopbop.com, offer inspired seasonal designs under the umbrella of ‘ONE by’

The latest curation to take note of is ‘Made in Kind‘ by Anthropologie described on their website as “a limited edition of collaborative designs created by Anthropologie to spotlight established and emerging talents in the fashion world”.

Launched just a few months ago, Made in Kind is currently showcasing 12 designers including the debut line from Mia Christopher and select pieces from the eponymous Tracey Reese collection. It is, however,  the latest diffusion line, HI THERE From Karen Walker, that has caught my attention with a representation of beautifully tailored pieces leaning towards the cool preppy style so synonymous with the Karen Walker label.

Ruled  Ponte Blazer $158

‘Hi There’ From Karen Walker certainly compliments the styles we are accustomed to seeing at Anthropologie yet this line is a little more polished and sophisticated. Utilizing timeless prints in a color palate most women will find easy to incorporate  into their wardrobes, these designs have vintage-inspired written all over them! Price points are exceptionally reasonable too with the sweet spot averaging around the $150 mark. The stripe ponte blazer above is a must-have and at $159 is an absolute steal!

Draped Pin Drop Dress $158

Karen Walker is by no means an emerging talent, indeed she is a regular fixture at New York Fashion Week and owns showrooms in the fashion mecca’s of London, New York, Tokyo and Sydney.  In a recent review by UK newspaper, The Independent, she was lauded for “designing the kind of look that provides a means of appearing cool but not trying-too-hard, cute but not saccharine, alternative but not self consciously so”.

Polka Dotted Blazer $168. Khaki Flower Blouse $98

  1. This is so informative!… I have a striped blazer from Banana, it’s such a useful piece! After Christine showed me how to wardrobe it, it’s become my best buy!… I absolutely love the Draped Pin Drop Dress!

Christine Lockhart Welcome to my journal of fashion sensibility!
